When two or more companies are linked to each other through ownership of shares, it could be called a Group Company or an enterprise. Either way, it’s virtually a network of companies with some owning shares in the others to form a group. The formation of Group Companies allows various kinds of activities in the business world that is not possible to be done by standalone companies. One such activity is Transfer Pricing.

Transfer Pricing esentially refers to the setting of prices of goods and services that are exchanged between commonly controlled legal entities within an enterprise. So say subsidiary company sells goods to its parent or holding company, then it would be called transfer pricing and the parent company would be charged with a price called the transfer price.

There are numerous advantages to transfer pricing, but especially from a taxation perspective, as it takes advantage of the different tax regimes in different countries. While doing transfer pricing isn’t illegal, it is heaviliy regulated so as to ensure the fairness and accuracy of transfer pricing among related entities and that there are no transfer mispricing. The documentation of a company’s financial reporting related to transfer pricing is also strictly scrutinized and closely checked for accuracy.

From the above description of transfer pricing, it should quite clear that there are various sides to it that anyone dealing with transfer pricing would be wise to know. Those sides being the law, management, accounting, and tax. Thus the theme of Pusat Pengembangan Hukum Indonesia (PPHBI)’s course is “The Different Sides of Transfer Pricing: Law, Management, Accounting and Tax” and will be held on Thursday, 25th April 2019 from 09:00-15:15 WIB, at Ashley Hotel Jakarta Jl.
